We sold our first Jiminy’s cricket dog treat exactly 7 years ago today!
We’re feeling a bit nostalgic, so we thought it might be fun to take a look back at some of the moments along the way.
At the very beginning, we had a lot of things happening all at once. Formulating our first treats, coming up with a name, and designing our logo and bags, to name a few.
We knew we wanted to create great-tasting dog treats made with cricket protein and only a few other ingredients — all picked with purpose, and packed with nutrients for dogs.
The first treats looked a bit different than they do today, but the recipe is still pretty close to what we started with.

Tuco was a youngster then, and his partner sampling the treats was Derby.
We’ve talked about our logo development before. As we said, it’s a journey!

One of our favorite moments was getting our first product delivery.

It was delivered into Anne’s mom’s garage (which we used as our first warehouse). Two pallets and three flavors of treats. Big things start small!
Of course, this led to our first photo shoots. In our living room. Startup life.

Tuco and Derby became our models. Derby loved her job (never ending treats) and celebrated with spectacular drool bubbles.

Tuco got to shine whenever we needed a pup in costume. That dog knows how to rock a hat.

And this is the first day showing the world what we’d built!

It’s been such a rewarding, exciting, and sometimes challenging journey. But we wouldn’t have it any other way.
